From the Principal

It is an honour and a joy to be appointed Principal at Northern Christian School. I want to say thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as I embark on this journey to serve God and the Northern Christian School community as Principal, to lead the school in providing a quality Christian education for all of our students.

I will seek to continue to lead Northern Christian School well, under God’s leadership, partnering with you, to equip all students with an education that encourages them to develop their full potential by enriching their individual skills and abilities.

As Principal of Northern Christian School, I will continue to make it a priority to empower staff and parents, in partnership, to provide educational experiences that meet the learning needs of all students.

I encourage parents and staff to reread our purpose and mission statements and to be familiar with these.

Purpose
Our purpose is to prepare and equip students for life by providing the highest quality Christ-centred education.

Mission
Under God’s leadership, in partnership with parents, we strive to equip all students with an education that encourages them to develop their full potential by enriching their individual skills and abilities.

Values in Action

  • ENCOURAGING one another to strive. Northern Christian School encourages one another to strive in all areas of life.

  • ENRICHING the lives of the community. Northern Christian School aims to enrich the lives of every student, family and the wider community.

  • EQUIPPING every student to learn. Northern Christian School equips all students with values, attitudes and skills to learn.

I pray that we will continue to be a learning community, shaped by the gospel, where students will see and understand the world through the perspective of God’s truth at Northern Christian School.

Athletic Carnival — Take Two

Last Friday we started our Athletics Carnival and were able to complete all of our track races before having to cancel the remainder of the events due to the weather. We will be running the remainder of our events on Friday 8 November

With the change in date, there will also be a slight change in format for students with Year 3 to 6 students completing their field events between 9:30am and 11:00am. Prep to Year 2 will be completing their field events between 11:30am and 1:00pm. We welcome parents and families to come along to cheer us on. If you would like to help with the Athletics Carnival please talk to classroom teachers. Students will be required to wear their sports uniform or appropriate clothing in their house colours. Thank you for your understanding.

Footy Colours Day

As previously notified we very proudly donated over $148 to raise money and awareness for Cancer research. In addition to this our School Parent Council also ran a fund raiser on Footy Colours Day, through lunch sales on the day. Your purchases of yummy hot dogs, popcorn and lemonade raised $288. Thank you for your support for this event!

Library News - Book Coverers Needed

There will soon be a number of new books arriving in the library for our reading program, which is very exciting! We are looking for volunteers to help with covering - everything (including training) is provided. Please contact Mrs Rowlings or leave your name and contact details at the office.
