OUR TEAM

Northern Christian School has professional staff and fully qualified teachers and leaders.

Our leadership team is committed to leading an exceptional learning and teaching program in a safe and inclusive environment. Our team is led by the following people.

School Principal

Bethany Armstrong
Bethany Armstrong began as Principal at Northern Christian School in 2019. She has a strong passion and commitment to Christian education and has served in Christian schools around Australia for over 15 years in a variety of roles. Bethany considers it an honour to serve as Principal, leading an exceptional school in strong partnership with parents. She counts it as an incredible privilege and joy to watch students learn and flourish in all spheres of their schooling. Bethany values the opportunity to head up a team of exceptional and dedicated staff who support students to use the gifts and abilities that God has given them to serve God and others at Northern Christian School.

Bethany is deeply passionate and committed to the vision of growth and ensuring the school continues to flourish under her leadership. She achieves this by ensuring the teaching and learning programs are delivered through an authentic, biblically informed lens that seeks to instruct the mind, shape the heart and equip the hand.

Pastoral Care Coordinator

Samuel Whittle
Samuel was so passionate about Christian education that he started volunteering at Northern in 2009, and after completing his teaching degree, commenced his teaching career in 2010. It was the strong connections between staff, students and families that resulted in Samuel remaining at Northern through the years. Samuel brings his passion of supporting students as they grow and develop throughout their time at Northern to his role as Pastoral Care Coordinator. He regularly shares his deep hope that all members of the school community understand that they are who God created them to be and that they are loved by God.

Teaching & Learning Coordinator

Claire Gardner
Claire started her teaching journey in 2015 and joined Northern in 2018. She values the support and teamwork at Northern and is encouraged that all teachers are eager to improve their practices to ensure the students receive the highest quality Christian education. Claire’s passion for teachers to have knowledge of and be equipped to use best practise in their classrooms results in students receiving the best opportunity to grow and use their God given gifts. Claire is committed to ensuring that Northern is regularly reviewing its practises and implements training and programs to support teachers in doing this.

Learning Enrichment Coordinator

Kerrie Prentice
Kerrie is committed to Christian education and has served in many roles, having taught from Years 1 to 6, French, Health and Auslan. Commencing teaching in 2007, Kerrie’s career at Northern began in 2008. As Learning Enrichment Coordinator, Kerrie’s hope is that every student feels loved, understood and believed in.
